Jeep transportation to trailhead in loc. Piredda, Golgo plateau and boat return to the port of S. Maria Navarrese in the afternoon.
Hike description
The trail starts from loc. Piredda, in the plateau of Golgo and is about 6 km long (about 3 hours). In the first part, it climbs gradually, then it crosses the ridge of Serr’e Lattone and it goes down to the cove, at a 500 metres gradient.
Extraordinary experience that involves some of the most important landmarks of the area, of the culture and typical architecture of baunei: some shepherds’ huts, the famous Scalones (juniper ladders built by old-time shepherds) and spectacular arches of rock.
Difficulty of the hike to Cala Mariolu: trail for expert hikers (EE)
Important information
The trail moves over stony ground, steep slopes and juniper ladders, so you’ll definitely need a pair of good hiking shoes.
Don’t forget also enough water, packed lunch and the swimsuit: once you get there, there’s no way you’ll stay away from the crystalline water!
There’s a snack bar located on the beach, so you’ll be able to buy drinks and snacks after the hike (check opening times beforehand!)
